My aunt had the neck surgery that I think you're referring to. Is this where they ream the carotid arteries out? Mind you--my aunt, who was in her early 80's at the time--had this done a decade ago, and got thru it with flying colors. And no doubt in the past 10 years or so medicine has improved the procedure.
