The part of the chip where the edge of the inlay meets the rest of the chip is where to look. In bright light, tilting the chip, you can see sort of a dullness to all but the most extreme edge of the inlay. Both sides of the $100 chips shown in my previous post were buffed out, but only one side of the $1000 chip was done. Take a look at the other side of that chip!
