Re: Checks go stale after 6 months.

While your “law school” instructor believes "legally" a check is good for 6 years from date of issue, it is clearly up to the individual bank to complete the transaction.

ANY bank has the option to REJECT a check issued that has not been submitted for collection within 180 days.

I found out long ago, law school theory is one thing. Practicality and the “real world” are another.
