NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

In looking over notes for BankNote of the Day I ran across this note from Russia, I could not remember if it had been featured before or not but it was worthy of a second time around if so.

The Russian Federation (оссийская Федерация ), is a transcontinental country extending over much of northern Eurasia. It is a semi-presidential republic comprising 83 federal subjects. Russia shares land borders with the following countries: Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea, and is also close to the United States and Japan. It borders the Arctic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Caspian Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Black Sea. ENJOY!!

Languages: Russia
Religions: Russian Orthodox, Muslim, Buddhist
Status: UN Country
Ruble: Russian - Pубль - Rubl "silver bar" from the Russian verb "Rubit"- "to cut up"

The note selected tonight is a 1918 issue of 25 Rubles printed by the American Bank Note Company.

(Front) Commerce seated at ctr. (Back) Russian Arms - Double Headed Eagle at center above the Russian White House. Flanked by denomination at right and left.

If you examine this note closely you will see the intricate design and quality of the workmanship that went in to the note that you no longer see today. The style is a recognizable style of the era, in America as well as Europe. Truly a masterpiece of the times! (IMO of course!)
