Why aren't you having the number ported to the new phone? And, while you'll likely lose the v/m's if you are changing providers, you can often transfer stored info (like contact numbers) through tools available where you get the new phone. They have devices that'll plug into both phones and transfer chip content from one to the other, even when the first phone doesn't work in a normal fashion. ...never mind, I reread your post, and saw you got the new phone online. You should have just gone to the mall!
