I went to College in 1968 to a small school called Delta near Bay City, Michigan. I played poker with a group of people on a regular basis and it was common knowledge that a "real" game was played at United Cigar in Bay City. I went there with a friend one day and we asked the clerk if we could play poker and you could hear people in the back room in mid afternoon. The clerk said something like, "come back when you are older boys," and he pointed to the door. I went back in 1971 when I turned 21 and the clerk, not the same one, said, "I don't know what you are talking about." Close but no Cigar.
