NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

Today's note comes from Japan. Japan is a constitutional monarchy situated off the east coast of Asia. The note was selected after I attended a Christmas party last night and got stuffed! With "Diet" on my mind I came up with a "Diet" note!

The note is a 1946 issue of a ¥10 Yen. The front features the Diet Building with the denomination of 10 in each quadrant around the picture. The right features the bank name and the Japanese seal. The back is a non-descript rather plain design with Japan in English (Nippon) and Japanese.

The Japanese parliament is called the Diet. It consists of the House of Representatives (480 members) and the House of Councilors' (242 members). The members of the Diet are elected by the Japanese people.ENJOY!!

Languages: Japanese, Korean, Chinese
Religions: Shinto, Buddhist, Christian
Status: UN Country
Yen: Japanese: 円 - Yen - from Chinese 元 Yuan
