(Dec. 15) Westport Man Arrested in Casino Chip Theft

A Westport man was arraigned in Norwich Superior Court today after police said he swiped several thousand dollars in poker chips from a table at Mohegan Sun casino.

State police said Charles H. Vosgueritchian, 29, of 47 West Parish Road, entered the casino at 6 a.m. Sunday, sat at a gaming table, grabbed some chips and ran to his car.

Vosgueritchian led police on a high speed chase and was taken into custody by Westport police near his home. He was turned over to state police and charged with fourth-degree larceny.

Police said he had two $1,000 poker chips at the time of his arrest. He was held on $5,000 bond.
