I have sold tens of thousands of diamonds over the last 20 plus years. I been seeing wholesale diamonds dropping in price year after year. The one thing that stands out is the very high end diamond (High Clarity, Color and Cut) still carries a premium on the open market. The middle of the road diamonds and lower end have lost more value. I maybe wrong......the chip market is somewhat simular of how the diamond market is trending. I see chips selling for way less than book value for the more common or semi-rare chips. I noticed the very high demand (super rare) still command a higher price or closer to book price.
