Hey Fred, to the best of my knowledge the citizens of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek are going to vote on the amend. in thier frist sessions of the new year. Yes it was approved statewide by voters then it is up to the city gov't's and the citizens of the said cities too put it into action. No doubt all three will pass it.
The ammendment simply states that the casinos will have the option of going 24 hours, rasing the stakes to $100 and allowing the casinos to add craps and roulette.
1. No doubt that many of the casinos with hotels will go 24/7, the only hang up so far is the casinos ability to serve beer and booze after 2 am. that is the state liquor law and I'm not sure if there's a way around that one yet?
2. The $100 limit is a staight up new max
3. The addition of craps and roulette will probably end up on casino floors by mid summer. According to my sources the CO Div. of Gaming is still in the process of writting the rules for the games. The 1000+ machines casino will probably introduce those games first and places like the Isle, the Riv and Ameristar will bring in thier own people to set up and manage those games. THe smaller localy owned operations may follow suit but likely after the big guys show they can turn a profit from the games, the big guys will be the testing grounds. It was also brought up yesterday's meeting that with the increased limits some smaller casinos will either introduce or re-introduce a black jack game to thier floors, the games becomes more profitable the more people can bet, i.e we are hoping to see alot more new chips by this time next year.
