Re: Barry H, Jerry B. "the harvesters"

Eric.

1. There are usually 5 to 7 colors in use at most roulette tables - mainly do to the size of the table layout and the volume of play. It pretty hard for more than 7 players to gather around a table and make their bets. Most tables will also have one or more "backup" colors that they will use as a security measure or to switch out a color that has too many worn or damaged or missing (over harvested) chips, etc.

2. Generally casinos use the same color chips from table to table with different letters, numbers or designs on each table. However there are many casinos that use different color chips from table to table along with different numbers, letters and designs.

3. Unfortunately, I believe that the use of electronic tables will continue to grow for a few reasons - these tables are cheaper to operate, less dealers needed per customer and NO chips needed, the minimum bets are generally lower that a regular table, these games appeal to "slot" players who are intimidated by table games and the "touch screen" appeals to the computer generation (younger) gamblers who like this type of technology.

4. Reintorduction of chips into a game for higher value at a later date.

Take care,
"Mr. Roulette"
