My sources tell me the employees of Oasis Casino in Mesquite, Nv, came to work this morning to find it will be closing this coming Friday (Dec 5th).
It's been rumored for several weeks (and reported in the newspaper several months ago) that the owner Randy Black and his investors only had enough capitol to keep 2 of the 3 "Black Gaming" properties open.
Casa Blanca and Virgin River will reportedly stay open.
Locals are calling Randy Black "The Grinch" since his Oasis employee have now lost their jobs, vacation pay and can not start filing for unemployment until Friday....just in time for Christmas.
And yes, Mr Black says it's a "temporary closing" (..yeah, right!)
Eureka Casino in Mesquite is owned by completely different owners and is doing fine.
