Re: ??? Ultraviolet & Fluorescent light chip damag

Hey There!

It is amazing how fast UV light can do damage and sap the color out of anything. I have those energy saving bulbs in every room of my house -except in places where I want my collectibles protected. Not just for my chips, but all my collectibles. I would not even trust UV protecting glass - although obviously the more safeguards the better. The darker more shadowy areas of your house are the best for sure. Incandescent bulbs are great - especially lower watt bulbs. They simply do not give off harmful rays. They emit a different part of the light spectrum. I also collect comic books and old newspapers of which I have some very expensive ones and believe me I am careful. If you think a chip will fade fast - old thin comicbook paper only takes minutes or a very few hours to yellow, but I always feel safe with incandescent lighting. Why take a chance and find out later. Just my opinion.
Good Luck!
Don
