My thanks to Tucson Smitty!...

Today, after bombing out at a daily poker tournament at the Casino Del Sol, I stopped by the Tanque Verde Swap Meet her in Tucson, AZ. The swap meet is rather dismal, but from time-to-time I do find something of interest. Today I stopped at a table that had some stuff that caught my eye and the next thing I know the guy behind the table say, "Jim?"

I look up and it's ccgtcc member Tucson Smitty. Sure surprised me, and to make my day, Robert made me some offers I could not refuse!

Thanks Robert!!

I should also mention that I stopped by a vendor's booth (actually a building!) that I have always stopped by and have never made a purchase. But his stuff is always like it is on the verge of something gaming, but in the 10 years of stpping by, he has neve had a thing I wanted. But today, I spotted a %$5 Mandalay Bay (Paul-Son) chip, sitting in a plastic bucket in the far reaches of a display case. I asked to see the bucket and the older gentleman was hard pressed to retrieve it, but he did. This dirty, but otherwise perfect $5 chip was marked $3 and I said I'd take. He said good, because it was in the wrong place.

"Wrong place? I asked. He said yea, I keep stuff like this in the front display case. I said where, as I had already looked there, as I do each time I visit? He went to the display case, fumbled with the lock and opened it. At the top center he removed a signed picture of some celebrity and below was about 10 chips! While they were all casino chips, and priced below face value, I passed as they were too worn.

But, he did have a Stardust, CIC $100 marked for $80, but I could tell that I would hard pressed to convince him that the Stardust was gone and the chip is no longer valid for $100, nor valued at $80.

He did say that he gets chips from time-to-time, so I'll be stopping back by and asking to see under the picture! vbg

Thanks for looking!

Jim
