NCR: An Unusual Souvenir Plate ....

Gooood Morning! I hope everyone's ready for a great day. The sun is shining here this morning, and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful Fall day.

Awhile ago someone suggested that I might "show off" my souvenir china collection from Nevada here on the Chip Board. Mainly I collect souvenir plates from the 1940s - '60s, and I had a rather large collection from all of the states West of the Mississippi. Due to some pressure from my kids, I've been downsizing my collection to just Northern California tourist attractions. (By the way, they LOVE my chip collecting: "they're so much smaller and easier to deal with") Let me khow if you like what I'm showing by posting a thread here and I can post some more plates later. And you're welcome to send me an email if want to purchase this one:

This plate was made by KINGWOOD CERAMICS in East Palestine, Ohio. The "Weeping Bright Gold" rim design was part of their fine line of tablewear. The transfer art was copryright by Jacob Karol Ceramics Co, and my note says it was made in 1959. Can anyone confirm this just by the casinos that are shown. Although I'm pretty sure it was made before 1961, I can't remember how I came up with '59.

Below is a close up of the transfer art. The color is much brighter than my picture shows, and that's THE STARDUST HOTEL at the top. I guess I hope at least some of you enjoy this kind of stuff as much as I do. Later - Buzz
