Having fun at G2E!...

On Tuesday I was lucky to be a G2E attendee and while passing the WSOP booth, they were loking for one more player to take a seat and I volunteered. The celebrity event (and charity fund-raiser) was pre-sold, but evidently there were some no-shows and I got lucky and got a seat!

The celebrity for this 90-minute, 3-table tournament was Antonio Esfandiari. While he was knocked-out midway through the tournament, he remianed on-hand to emcee the action. In this photo, which is posted on the G2E, digital press room site - http://www.oscareinzig.com/g2epressroom2008/ ) I am heads-up against the player in seat 9. I was the Big Blind and checked the pre-flop option with a Q 5. The flop came J - 4 - Q. I bet and was called. 4th street was a 2 or some small card and I went all-in. The chip-leader called and turned Q - 4 for two-pair. The river was a nothing for me and he won the event.

Pam is standing to my right and Antonio is with the microphone. My consolation prize was a G2E tie, while the winner received a WSOP home poker set from the Gambler's General Store.

FWIW - The tournament chips were "Bicycle" brand and I harvested none! While the table was a hole-cards camera table, it had a strange feel at first. Your cards and chips are in a pit! But after a while, it was pretty comfortable!

Thanks for looking!

Jim
