Steve Passalacqua's contest and integrity

For anybody that clicked or made a guess in Steve Passalacqua's photo contest a few days ago - and I suppose anybody that didn't, he asked who was in the photo. After the winner was announced, he said "It was 1995 with Doug Saito, Al Moe and Dick Covington looking over a few chips at the Jockey Club, Las Vegas. On the right is my son Drew, the D. in T.D.S.

Well, those "few chips" were a little more than that. Those were the now famous chips Steve spent years trying to obtain, finally purchased - and then returned to the owner when it was found they were stolen 15 years earlier. If you were there and saw the chips, knew the story, and knew Steve, then you know what the whole ordeal was like: a heart-wrenching, gut-twisting dream turned ugly, that Steve handled in his characteristic caring manner.

If not, you will have to trust me when I say that Steve Passalacqua will always be a friend that I look up to and admire for his decency, integrity, and good spirit. If our club had an award for honesty and humanity, the first winner would be Steve.
