NCR Amazing Election Voter Issue Not Political

This is an unbelievable story and I’m sure I’m not the only one it happened to.
In the previous election, I voted by way of absentee ballot. I had already moved from one County to another some 25 miles apart. Originally I was registered to vote in Los Angeles County, then moved, and re-registered in Ventura County of California.

I did not receive my absentee ballot by mail this time, so I went to the Post Office, filled out a form which would allow me to vote by means of absentee ballot. (I assumed once you went absentee, it stayed that way). I sent the new completed registration to the proper office; only to have the registration returned saying I was NOT a registered voter in Ventura County. Strange, as I was in the previous election and was able to vote by absentee ballot, which I did.

So at that point I'm feeling I might now be unable to vote. I decided to call the Los Angeles County voter registrations office and see if I could somehow get this straitened out. I asked them if they could tell me if I was still registered to vote in Los Angeles County. They said please provide your name and residential address and they could tell me. I gave them my name and the address where I had previously lived some 4 years ago. They said YES! You are registered to vote in Los Angeles County and here is your polling location.

I then went on to say, I am no longer a resident in Los Angeles County, could I change my registration in time, to vote in this election. They responded with NO! I said alright, then I should go to the polling place you have me currently registered at and I can vote there correct? Oh no said the person on the phone, if you do that, you would be would be subject to a criminal prosecution of perjury. I said I understand the ballot for Los Angeles County and Ventura County have different measures, but I would only be voting for a President and the various propositions that would be voted no matter what part of the state of California one lives in. They said sir, I can’t tell you what to do, but again I will tell you, if you do vote at the location where you are registered, you would be subject to criminal prosecution.

So, here I am thinking, I can’t vote. Low and behold, guess what shows up in my Post Office mail box yesterday?

1) An absentee ballot to vote in Ventura County

2) A voter registration card which give me my polling location to vote personally in Ventura County

3) An absentee ballot for some person I don’t know with my PO Box listed as her address.

So now I potentially have 4 places or ways to vote? This is so amazing to me, I can vote in theory four times and I don’t know a single person from ACORN!

It’s not a Republican Issue, Not a Democratic Issue, and NOT a Chip Issue, just a post of how our government works at it’s finest.
