Some observations
In Response To: Ivory examples ... ()

The following are strictly observations. No conclusions are drawn. Therefore, again, no need to debate the issue.

1. Top: ivory appears to be cut "with the grain".

Bottom: ivory is crosscut or cut against the grain (note nerve hole). All chips in my collection are cut this way.

2. Top: 8 points all appear to be "cut" exactly the same and pierce the outer rim by the exact same margin.
Bottom: points appear to stop at outer ring although their shape varies. Any rim piercing is not uniform.

3. Top: the engraving is not centered.

Bottom: engraving is centered as are the engravings in every chip in my collection.

4. Top: Lines appear to begin and end uniformly.

Bottom: lines begin thick then taper to a fine point.

5. Top: lines are rough.

Bottom: lines are smooth.

Draw your own conclusions.
