Collecting casino memorabilia is fun and rewarding, but doing your research is an important part of the hobby.
Here are some tips you may find helpful.

To help navigate the chip world there are several informative guides that are updated each decade. One is called
the “Price Guide” which contains color reproductions of various chips along with their rarity levels. Another valuable
resource guide is called the “Chip Rack” and it is a wealth of detailed information about casino chips. I have heard
the highly anticipated new edition will be out very soon and this time it will also be printed in English.

R-10 is a rarity rating given to the most coveted of chips, it means that only one or two chips are known to exist
from a particular casino, or………………. that you can only sell one or two from your stash per year.

Joining the CC>CC “chipping” club is recommended for chipping camaraderie, however receiving your coveted
membership number is also a tell tale sign that Armageddon is on it’s way.

Chip club communication happens on a first name basis, so some chippers have a nickname to add to their regular name, this
distinguishes one from another. The CC>CC will mail you your personalized nickname in due time. For now, you can use (Admin).

The CC>CC has an informative website with resources and pertinent information for the newbie chipper and the experienced
chip collector as well. Read all about the club website on www.thechipboard.com

Light hearted discussion and debate is found and encouraged on the chipboard however, one should always remember that no
one ever…(EVER) thinks your humor is as funny as you do.

Birthdays are BIG days for club members on the chipboard, but determining a chippers age can be quite difficult sometimes.
A simple mathematical formula can assist you with this. Just multiply 10 years for every second it takes someone to open an Airtight container.
Works every time.

If you are buying chips on ebay it pays to bid early and often. (Literally.)

If you have found a rare item on ebay but it is listed in the wrong category, please post it on the chipboard, almost everyone
will be thrilled you did so. “Damn-it”

If your chip’s old hot stamp is dull and hard to read, just use a fine gold paint marker and brighten it up, but you must be
very careful when doing so, if you need more instruction you can contact (Message Deleted by Poster)

The term “slabbing” is used to describe the process of encasing chips in tamper proof holders for the purpose of judging
the authenticity, maintaining the condition and identifying and recording the population of known chips. This topic causes
quite a controversy, because many chippers think it will flat-out ruin the hobby forever. The “Club” gathered an elite team
of pro-slabbing advocates to research the topic and report back their findings.

After the tragic accident the families have requested in lieu of sending flowers, please make donations to the Museum of Gaming History.
