Stellaris: cream v. white

I have been asked about these chips many times. The problem with the old Stellaris cream colored chips is they come in MANY different shades. I have a very dark one, and used to have one I was never quite sure about. Here is a side by side comparison that is pretty easy to see:

In my experience, the white chips seem pretty obvious. There are some cream chips that I am only sure about when I place them next to a white chip, though. The white chips replaced the cream chips, only to be replaced by a completely different chip (rt plastics?). When I was last in Aruba, 2006, both shades of the old chips were used, but only at a few tables (3-card poker, let it ride), whereas the new chips were used at the blackjack tables, and if I remember correctly, the craps tables.
