Roseville MN doctor's office raided fake chips

A Twin Cities doctor is under investigation for allegedly using fake coins at a local casino.

Investigators say Carol Straughan, who operates a weight loss clinic in Roseville, tried to cash in fake chips at Mystic Lake Casino.

Police raided her office and found scans of casino coins, a file labeled ‘token dimensions’ and copper metal stock.

According to a Ramsey County search warrant, a security guard found a fake $100 coin at Mystic Lake Casino after it jammed one of their machines on Oct. 8. Surveillance video showed Straughan using the machine. The casino's surveillance director believes Straughan has passed or attempted to pass counterfeits before, the warrant said.

A second search warrant said Straughan is behind on her taxes and her license to practice was suspended.

Straughan has not yet been charged
