My thoughts for what they are worth...

I am a smoker. I have quit for years at a time (5 was the longest stretch) so I am sympathetic to the non-smokers as well.
The ban will not effect me much as I do not smoke at the table I play at...I get up and go to either a non-populated area that wont offend anyone or outside. Even if there are smokers at my table, I will not smoke at the table as a courtesy to the dealer and other employees there.
I appreciate when a "well ventilated" area is provided for smokers as I do not enjoy sitting in a smoke box either.

But the truth of the matter is, when I am off smoking, I am not gambling. I dont think that the ban will stop the smokers from going to a casino but it may alter how much time they spend gambling.

I do not play the slots, it's not my thing but how do the slot players "hold their machine" while off having a smoke. The tables are easier, they will hold your place and I will usually go on a shuffle or bathroom run to have my smoke.

I am sure like every other ban that has gone into effect, it will eventually work itself out. True gamblers are not going to stop gambling if they cant smoke but they may choose to go to one of the local Indian Casino's that allow smoking until it is universal. Maybe drive an extra hour for the convenience?
