Just announced today...The Fitzgeralds casino in Reno will close it's doors and cease all operations on November 30. Nearly 500 people will lose their jobs. I don't know how to post a link to another page, but you can go to rgj.com for more information.

I was actually just in the Fitz on Saturday evening. All of their tables were open because it was during Street Vibrations, one of the biggest bike ralleys in the country. Of all the table games they had open, fully half of them were being deadspread, while the other half were very weak, with only a handful full. The slot play on the floor could have been described as pathetic for a casino open faced to one of the biggest tourist draws this city sees in a year. Truly sad. I feel for all the people about to lose their jobs, esp. with the holiday season looming so close.
