$8 a day for parking is cheap compared to a lot of airports. On site long term lots at Denver International cost as much as a studio apartment would if the daily rate is converted into a monthly rate! Spirit is a good airline if you live in Detroit. Kinda like Frontier and Denver, but smaller.

More rooms and reasonable airfare to an airport that would only be a short cab or shuttle ride to the casino hotels would generate a lot of interest from folks who live just a few states away -- folks who are now flying to Vegas on a regular basis instead of going to AC, paying inflated room rates and having to rent a car in Philly or at one of the NYC airports.

I'd really like to see AC position itself as a major convention destination, but it would take a lot of development to make it a place that could legitimately compete with the likes of Orlando, Chicago or Las Vegas.
