My email address isn't a short name or something that a Bot might create from random words. Nice simple words like MR and CHIPS? 
If someone wants to track the people who harvest addresses from BBs like this one, it's not that hard.
Open an email account, use it here and never send an email anywhere else or use it for anything else, never reply to any email spam and report back in a few months. Don't use a name like Mike Smith or something common.
At the same time, create a free email address on the same free source and use a nice easy name like Mike Roberts, Clark Kent, or Peter Parker. Never use it for anything, never sign up for a BB, never do anything with it! Watch the spam pour in. Isn't that interesting?
I think you'll find that your 28,000 spams came from a different source.
What I'm trying to point out, is that sometimes it's the name someone uses and not the obvious place that people want to blame.
