I took a business writing class in college, and one day the professor gave us an example of how not to write a business letter. It seems she received a subscription offer from a magazine that began with the words "Dear Featherless Biped." Well, she exclaimed, she had never been so insulted, and there's no way she would ever subscribe to a magazine that called her names! The magazine, of course, was National Lampoon. Talk about someone who just doesn't get it!
