Newbie Tip Of The Day - Tip # 96

Displaying your collection

Much like yesterdays Tip of The day dealing with storing your collection, this tip also has no one correct answer.

There are many different ways to display your collection and how someone else decides to display their chips may not be the best method for you.

One of the most popular ways to display your collection is in a frame. Several companies make great frames that are specially made for chips or tokens and have inserts precut to fit them.

One of the best companies is Tiny Treasures out of Las Vegas. These guys are some of the best at what they do and not only sell precut frames to fit just about any collectable, they will custom frame anything you can send them.

Another popular framing shop is Cassidy Collectables which also sell a variety of sizes and finishes

Other methods that I have used is mounting is shadow boxes and using easel type displays that most supply shops sell.

I also use quite a few Riker display mounts for most of my plaques and odd shaped items. These come in several sizes and can be found on Ebay for $5-$10 each when bought in bulk making them one of the cheapest display methods. They don’t however look anywhere near as good as a quality frame from either of the 2 suppliers I mentioned above.

I have seen mounted wall displays on hinges where both sides of the chips can be displayed and several other members use commercial glass display cases for their collections.

No matter what method you choose, pick the one you like best and show off your collectables. All collectables, especially chips and tokens are enjoyed more when you can share them with others thru your displays.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

Happy chipping to all

Doug
