Vietnam Casinos

Yes, there are casinos in Vietnam. But chip collectors shouldn't get too excited. There are several casinos in the larger cities, Hanoi and Saigon, now called Ho Chi Minh City. The casinos are small and mostly have slot machines. There are table games, but they are electronic. Electronic black jack and roulette games have you sitting at a display playing against an electronic dealer. So, no chips or tokens. When you buy in, you give an attendant some money and they go back and some how the money appears on your slot machine or terminal. When you cash out, it is the reverse. They lock your game, an attendant comes back with a digital camera and takes a picture of your terminal and then goes back to the cage. Eventually they will come back with your cash.

We were also in Thailand where gambling is illegal. The Thai's head over to Cambodia where there are gambling border towns, much like Wendover, McDermott, Laughlin and Mesquite in Nevada, to make their wagers.
