I'v never had any problems with it or getting a virus and best of all it is FREE. Symantec (Norton) products are famous for being resource hogs so I would definitely get away from it.

Grisoft AVG is FREE for personal use
AVG free addition works great
Avast is also a good one, I think,,,,
AVG works fine for me!
I also use AVG Free
Norton missed two trojan horses
Also using FREE Windows Defender anti-spyware
