Not true at all.
In Response To: each casino's tokens ()

In Nevada, the size of a $1 token is now fixed, and laid down in Gaming Regs.
Only two materials are permitted for $1 tokens, alloys 713 and 752. So only two weights are possible anyway. The weights are so close most machines would accept either.
A small weight difference occurs between reeded and non-reeded coins but again almost all machines would accept either.
Tokens are manufactured to suit machines, not casinos.
For example, a token made to work in an IGT machine will work in any similar IGT machine in any casino.

That said, the majority of LV machines that still take $1 slots will only accept 'IDX' tokens. All older tokens would be rejected regardless of weight or size.

All this came about some years ago after Caesars Palace had some $1 tokens made in fine silver which gaming subsequently turned down, because at that time the Regs did not give specs for tokens.
