Been away for a brief time so I am just seeing this post now.
Phyllis....I have been using a Mac for over 10 years now.Just bought the new iMac and think that it is fantastic.
Easy to operate and even a non tech guy like me can use it with no problems.
Also like the idea that Pokerstars has accepted the fact that there are many Mac users out there and has now decided to fix it so that Mac users can use their site.
Never had a virus or problem at all with any of my Macs.I still have my first one hooked up from 10 years ago, as there are a couple of programs which I still use,and my old scanner still works perfectly with it,so why bother tossing it out,right?
I think that you have made a great choice.
I am assuming that you have Leopard? If so,any of the Mac Leopard for Dummies books are great as well as the Teach Yourself Visually Mac OS Leopard book.
