If you examine the entire 20th century, the only person elected to the presidency without gubernatorial, VP, or military experience was JFK, and thanks to Richard J and his army of the dead, that election was tainted. I never understood why the Hawkeye cauci were so important, other than a status rush for the winners. The Chicago suburb I live in has more people than the entire state of Western Illinois.....errrrrr.....Iowa.
