Re: Anyone have a video iPod?
In Response To: Anyone have a video iPod? ()

I own both an iPod video and an iPod Touch. While the iPod video has a larger capacity (mine is a 30gb unit) and is fine for storing of videos and music, the battery life leaves much to be desired. Music only runs about 6-8 hours, and video playback is about a third of that (around 2-3 hours).

Meanwhile, the iPod Touch is solid state storage (flash memory). The one I have is an 8gb model, which is still enough space for 4 movies and around 40 albums or so. Battery life is much longer, 14-20 hours on music, and around 5-6 hours on video, meaning you can run it on a cross-country flight without having the battery die.

Since both use a USB connection to recharge, I recommend one of those small power adapters (about $15) that uses the iPod cable to charge the units with, then slips into a pocket or carry bag with ease.

Another plus for the iPod Touch is that it has Wi-Fi, meaning if you're sitting in Las Vegas International and being bored, you can connect to their free wireless service and read the news... or the Chip Board. *Gryn*
