Have a Better Chip Search Experience on eBay...

I’d like to share this method of looking at chips on eBay that will probably be very helpful for those who have not mastered the art of elimination when looking for “real” chips on eBay. If you are like me, you have gotten very, very frustrated sifting through all the “card covers”, ‘keychains”, “coffee mugs”, “Fantasy” chips, ect. that clutter your chip searching experience.

These instructions should work for just about anyone using Microsoft Windows with Internet Explorer.

These exact steps have saved me countless hours of grief on eBay, so I want to share them with you. (You’ll only have to do this one time if you save your link as I describe in step #10.)

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WHILE YOU REFER TO THE PICTURE BELOW IN THESE EXAMPLES:

1. Go to www.eBay.com

2. Find the “All Categories” drop-down box and click the black drop-down arrow at the right

3. and then select by clicking “Collectibles”

4. and then click “Search”

5. Over on the left side there is a yellow column… click “Casino”

6. then click “Chips”

7. then click then “Individual Casino Chips”

Now… here is where you can really separate the wheat from the chaff…

8. There is a search box (#8.) to the left of “Individual Casino Chips” where you can put in words to search for, such as “Last Frontier” or “Silver Slipper”…. but, many times more importantly, words you can also ELIMINATE from your search by putting a ‘minus sign’ in front of the words (like you see in example #9). Notice how I have typed in: “-guard –keychain –ncv –funny –mug –cover –pearl –protector” , etc?

9. This means that when I click “Search” it will remove all eBay listings that contain any of the words I preceded with the “-“ sign. No longer will you have to look at endless listings of “card covers” or “lucky charms”, or “fantasy”, or “Borland”, or anything else you’d like to avoid!

10. Now that you have created your search, you can save it by going up to the top and clicking “FILE”, “SEND”, "Shortcut to Desktop”. From then on, all you have to do is click your desktop shortcut link and voila(!), your ideal eBay search appears.

I’d be curious to know if anyone found this useful…
