What a great bunch of people this is here. In just 24 hours after Andy posted the message about my daughter's fund raiser, you all chipped in and helped her meet her goal.

For those of you that don't already know, Lauren has been competing with the Miss America organization since she was 11. She took the title of Jr Miss Wheat Queen in 1999, then again in a different age group in 2003 at 15. In 2004 and 2005 she competed at the state level, winning in 2005 and became Miss Teen Kansas. That was her senior year in high school and she had quite a time. She traveled the state that year performing the duties and making the appearances required by that title, and went to Orlando to represent Kansas at the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant.

She took a couple years off from competing as college started, but has begun again and has her sights set on becoming Miss America. She must first win a local title which will allow her to compete for Miss Kansas in June. If she wins that, then I will get an extra trip to Vegas that year as I will be there for the Miss America competition. She promises to autograph Miss America chips at our convention if she wins that.
