I am doing the same with Charles Kaplan for Caribbean chips. I actually didn't have Charles as my partner for this project at the beginning, not that he wasn't worthy. I had been working on the CarribeanChipGuide for about the eight months now, if not the better part of the past year. As it turns out, Charles also has been working on the same project for the past couple of months. Fortunately, we were working on different parts. It was a surprise to both of us when Charles found out that I had been working on it, and I found out that he was doing the same. So, once the initial shock wore off, the only logical thing to do was to join forces and make it a collaborative effort. As a result, it saved us both a heap of time, and the CaribbeanChipGuide.com will be up and running much quicker, and hopefully, even bigger and better.
Why are we doing it?? Because there is a need. By doing it, we have not only provided the present chipping community with a valuable resource, but future chippers as well. Not only that...but we have prodided it to ourselves !
By having an additional resource, it should inhance the experience of caribbean chippers and make it so many more people can see whats available, and make it easier for them to pursue their new exciting caribbean chipping nitche.
The same would be true for all new chipping online guides. It wouldn't replace priceguies, it would be a conduit for chippers to specialize. It would increase the number of chippers into those chips, and as a result, more chippers to buy the priceguides.
I encourage other people to try it. We experienced chippers have a wealth of information to share.
