NCR: Mini-rant about holiday wishes

I am sick and tired about people who try to make the simple act of wishing someone well over the holidays so difficult by claiming that things like Merry Christmas might offend someone. BALDERDASH!!! Since no one seems willing to take a stand, I hereby declare myself as the sole judge of holiday greetings. As of right now, the following rule applies:

To anyone who insists on a generic Happy Holidays: If someone says Merry Christmas (or Happy Hannukkah, Holy Ramadan, Peaceful Kwaanzaa, or whatever), do not get offended. Someone is simply wishing you well. Rather than get all uptight, just say "Thank you" and wish them whatever you want in return. Simple, isn't it? So if someone wishes you to have a glorious winter solstice, say "Thank you, and a Merry Christmas to you".

If you're still offended, tough.
