Well, see, that's an interesting point: "the only change that matters in the listing is the current bid." The seller could change to a more expensive form of shipping, or could modify the listing (or answer a question) to disclose a defect or other error. Certain changes cannot be made if a bid has been entered, but if the bid is hiding in the bushes a seller would have free reign to make changes up until the 24-hour limit. It seems this could place snipers at risk of winning an item they really wouldn't want.
