Bud Jones Inj. Mold Types

Hiya Shane, just a quick scan of my Chip links doesn't show a site that gives the info you're after. Where you can find an exhaustive rundown on Bud Jones and the myriad of BJ molds in a book available in the ccgtcc library. A Collector's Guide To Nevada Gaming Checks & Chips by Howard W. Herz and Kregg L. Herz

What are you going to find? Howdy and Kregg start in on the Bud Jones Co. on page 28 and the section runs through page 49 and provides many pages reproduced from the Bud Jones Co. cataloges. Easily 250 BJ designations (maybe more!) pertaining to mold number with additional on printed "inlays" and roulette center designs. Bud Jones used to have a "color puzzle" that consisted of a case full of plastic interlocking pieces that the salesman could manipulate in such a way to present different combos of insert types, edge markings, and colors. Perhaps someone can show some of these on the board...I've seen 'em! grin

My advice is to borrow the book and copy the pages, study up on the hundreds of variations and offer your services as the Bud Jones Mold ID "Go To Guy"! Seriously. That would be a nice function for the hobby. Anyone should consider hunting down this book, I got mine on eBay a few years ago and there's lot of good stuff here, stories, history, an overview of chip manufacturing and methods and a value guide. Our of print but everyone knows "Howdy" is still a Rock Star in the hobby. vbg

I'm resistant to reproduce the pages and post them here. I like the Herz's and I don't want to reproduce their work w/o permission. Check with them yourself please, perhaps they have an idea about presentation of all this info.

Here's a C25D sample...I think.
