William, Its not a dumb question as it has been
In Response To: "Dumb Question" ()

asked by many people.

Although I cant answer for others (And I know these are a lot of varying opinions on this) I would not apply any factor to book prices to come up with a value. As I have stated in previous posts, the guide books are just that, guides.

To me true Value is what someone is willing to pay and someone else is willing to sell for. I often research sold prices on Ebay to get real "Values". I use the guidebooks for a referance point but never as a fixed price point.

Sure the value of many chips has risen since the last issue of the guides. On the other hand there have been many "Finds" and for those chips the value has fallen.

So I guess what I am trying to say is there is no real answer to your question. Some might say 15% more is fair, Others 30% or even 50%. On the flip side, many people still use the values in the guides even though they are several years old.

As for myself, I spend more time worrying about what chips appeal to me than I do what prices they show in the books. Maybe I am just weird (yea I am leaving myself defenseless on this one), but thats the way I look at thigs.

I know it does not really answer the question, but those are my thoughts.
