NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

Today’s note comes from the African country of Togo. Togo is part of the WAS or West African States, made up of eight former French colonial territories: Mauritania, Senegal, Dahomey, Ivory Coast, French Sudan, Upper Volta, Niger, and French Guinea. Confusing? It’s much like the Euro where a common currency is used in multiple counties. The West African States have grown to now include Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo and Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania withdrew in 1966.

The note is a 1961 issue 50 Franc from Togo. The front has three women at the center with colorful traditional dress. village with horseman at left center. The back has a woman displaying a headdress with an ariel view of the city in the background. This note has a book value of $110.00 in UNCirculated condition. ENJOY!!

Togo is one of the small countires west of Nigeria. (Look CLOSE, it's very SMALL)
