You know Archie that's what I thought too, Why would UNITE-HERE Local 54 and IUOE Local 68 who claim that they are there for the benefit of their membership oppose the relicensing of the Tropicana, If the Trop does lose its license then the members of both unions who are Trop employees will lose their jobs and of course the union will blame Columbia Sussex and not themselves for the closure even though they fought for the denial of the casino license. I too don't frequent the Trop primarily because their employees are just plain rude and apparently don't know jack about New Jersey's casino regulations, About 7 years ago a Trop security guard tried to escort me out of the building because he thought I was underage (Mind you I was 33 at the time), he never asked me for any identification to prove I was 21 or over and he manhandled my arm, ultimately it took a call to the Casino Control Commission booth which I made outside of the Trop to finally get everything straightened out, The CCC officer apparently spoke to the security officer's superior and I was told by that CCC official that the security officer was repremanded for his behavior but I never received an apology from that security guard or from anyone at the Trop.
