Re: General newbie question about collecting.

Pretty good question Glenn. The premium on collecting as you've outlined comes from the fun to be had! grin I've got several niches going so I can see why you'd ask. For instance, I scored a primo Bank Club Reno chip at a convention auction a few years ago and I've had the best time collecting the chips, studying the joint and the people associated with it. Same thing with my endeavors in the Nevada Club/Lincoln Fitzgerald field. Nailed every single Hotel Nevada Ely about a year ago. When you're versed in a particular niche your confidence in hunting your prizes is goes up as well as your expertise. It's fun to network with the others in hobby who share the same interest as well.

Here's the fourth issue of Nevada Club Las Vegas for instance. No partiular premium to the chips as a set, just worth what the guides indicate as far I would advise. Guess it took me about seven years to get these together while I was looking for this and that too. I'm never in any particular hurry to acquire anything, just enjoying the journey. grin Like you've heard from others, collect what you like and you'll never be dissappoined what your pieces are worth. Not that there's anything wrong with pursuing "The Deal" either, your call!
