Re: Anyone experienced with BidPay, vs. PayPal?

Yes. PayPal is fine/great for the buyer , as is BidPay I guess. Both let you pay with credit cards and do chargebacks. And BidPay doesn't seem that arduous for the buyer if he is registered -- then it is easy to pay. My main concern was how each was for the seller.

On the eBay discussion boards I found these two remarks:

i have said it 100 times, just open a bidpay account and get rid of paypal. bidpay is now your merchant provider. and they are cheaper/answer the phone when you need them/eat chargebacks/nice people, lol
when you list, turn off paypal, click on nerchant account, click on visa/mc, in the description just state CC accept through our merchant provider bidpay.
done, period. and you dont have to use paypal.

As far as Bidpay, yes their user agreement in the right to take funds from your bank account is the same. Difference is they screen the buyers first. Then if approved and the seller has complied with their rules, Bidpay absorbs the chargeback...... .....Not so with Paypal. Paypal does no prior screening on transactions, payments are instant. And all chargebacks are the seller's liablility [as a practical matter, I guess he means].
