NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

Because Thanksgiving was just around the corner I was going to select a banknote with a nice TURKEY on it. Currency has nearly everything on it, birds, fish, animals, people, events, etc. I have not found a single turkey on any currency in any of my databases; I even looked around on the internet! Closest thing I found was a ‘Turkey Buzzard.’ Imagine that, a BUZZARD beats out a Turkey! Cornucopias, chickens, bountiful tables of food, Columbus and Indians, but NO TURKEYS! It appears that there is a turkey conspiracy among world leaders and financiers to reduce the awareness and existence of turkeys! This could be because of the treatment they receive during the ‘holiday’ season, which is NO ‘holiday’ for them!

SO There will be NO Banknote Featuring a TURKEY this Holiday season!!

So, here’s a Banknote FROM Turkey!
It is a 1982 issue 10,000 Turk Lirasi from TURKEY! On the front is President Ataturk at right. There are three dots in watermark area for visually impaired. On the back is Selimiye Mosque in Edirne. The man pictured is Mimar Sinan the architect at center. It has a watermark image of President Ataturk, and is printed by Deviet Banknote Matbassi.

The Republic of Turkey, a parliamentary democracy of the Near East is partially in Europe and partially in Asia between the Black and the Mediterranean Seas.
Languages: Turkish
Religions: Sunni Muslim
Status: UN Country

HAPPY THANKSIVING!! (Eat more Chicken)
