These are the final days of the New Frontier. Sadly another Vegas Strip landmark will become dust over the Holiday weekend. There isn't as much hoopla over the Frontier as there was over the Stardust. Watching the 'Dust get stripped down over a couple month period, seemed like a labor of love, where the Frontier demolition seems like just that....demolition! They even removed the Stardust name from the tower, but the Frontier logo is still there and looks like it will be going down w/ the ship. A lot of the windows are still in on the Atrium Tower (the tower to be imploded). From what I have heard, the rest of the site will be bulldozed over.
As for the implosion, I don't know if we will make it or not. I looked at the site from several different places y'day. If the only tower to go down is the Atrium, the ONLY good place to view the implosion is from the Frontier parking lot (where we watched the 'Dust). If they close that lot, there will be no good place to watch it. The reason I say that is because, if they only implode the Atrium Tower, the other smaller tower in front, will block the view from the Strip side.
Last I heard, they would be making room for the New York style "Plaza" Resort, but the Downtown Plaza Casino is fighting w/ them over the use of their name. I guess we'll wait and see.
