Just finished testing four Paulson chips for lead content. All four tested deep red on the swab. This means high lead content. The chemical from the swab will discolor the chip so you will have to clean the chip after the test. Each test kit I bought cost $3.98 from Lowe's. The brand is Lead Check. The kit only contains 2 swabs that can only be used once if contamination is detected. This means $1.99 per test, so if you want to test a good number of chips a more economical method must be found. All this proved in my opinion is that the news reports should not be taken lightly. I hope more will be reported on Paulson chips. I think we all need a good education on this. May make a good seminar for the convention next year ??? Another point is while the sawb test detects lead it does not give you any specifics as to percentage or real danger.
