Extra! Presidential Primaries Contest - IA & NH Extra!

Iowa and New Hampshire Presidential Primaries Contest!

Open to ALL - ccgtcc Members and Non-Members Alike!

----------------------------------------

Here is a chance for you to utilize your prognosticating skills in the political arena.

The goal of this contest is to predict the top 3 order of finish for both the Democrats and Republicans in the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.

Your entry should look like this (your entry MUST be added to this thread and cannot be changed once submitted unless a candidate dies) - (Feel free to cut and paste this format and then change it accordingly):

Iowa - Democrats

  • 1st place candidate
  • 2nd place candidate
  • 3rd place candidate

Iowa - Republicans

  • 1st place candidate
  • 2nd place candidate
  • 3rd place candidate

New Hampshire - Democrats

  • 1st place candidate
  • 2nd place candidate
  • 3rd place candidate

New Hampshire - Republicans

  • 1st place candidate
  • 2nd place candidate
  • 3rd place candidate

Tiebreaker = ___________% (see explanation below)

The scoring is as follows:

  • If you guess 1st place, you get 3 points
  • If you guess 2nd place, you get 2 points
  • If you guess 3rd place, you get 1 point

Bonus Points will be offered as follows:

  • 2 bonus points if you guess the trifecta in any of the four lists
  • or
  • 2 bonus points if you guess both the Republican and Democrat winners in either state
  • You can only get this bonus one time per state.

The Winner is the person with the most total points at the end of the contest. The maximum number of points anyone can get is 28 (6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 2).

The Tiebreaker will be the person who can most closely guess the total percentage the winners receive in the 4 elections without going over. To explain, if Democrat candidate A wins Iowa with 47% of the vote, the Republican candidate Y wins Iowa with 35% of the vote, the Democrat candidate Z wins New Hampshire with 39% of the vote and the Republican candidate Q wins New Hampshire with 50% of the vote, your tiebreaker guess would be 47 + 35 + 39 + 50 = 171. All percentages will be rounded down to a whole number (eg, 47.8% = 47% for purposes of this contest). Closest without going over. If still a tie, the person who posted their entry first wins.

The Entry Fee is TWO $1 (or better) real casino chips in Excellent or better condition.

The Deadline for entries is Monday, November 19.

ANYONE is eligible to enter, not just club members. ccgtcc members are on the honor system and will pay their chips to the winner after the contest ends. Any non-members may enter, but they must mail their chips date-stamped no later than November 21 to ME to hold for the winner (see address in my signature file). Entries not date-stamped November 21 or before will be forfeit and those chips will be sent to the ccgtcc Museum Fund auction. Entries where no chips are received will be invalidated in a post in this thread.

My entry fee will be the book scanned below called Baseball For the Love of It: Hall of Famers Tell It Like It Is. I will ship it to the winner thru media mail the next business day after the contest ends with any chips from non-members I receive. I will post the list of chips rec'd my non-members by December 15th. If I win the contest, I will send the book to the next best entry.

Any questions? Let's see who has the best political chops amongst us!
