If you're a Costco member, Paul, just get any laptop they have under $1000. They often have Compaq and HP brands at good prices. Any currently sold laptop will have enough memory and disk space for your needs. I got a Compaq V2000 there last year and am very happy with it. Costco buyers are very astute and make good deals on all computer products. Unless you are running high-end games you will be happy with what they have to offer.
